JAFAX Update Regarding COVID-19

At this time, JAFAX is still planned to take place as scheduled in Grand Rapids, MI in late June. The COVID-19 coronavirus is a serious concern that is currently affecting lives around the globe and it is no different with our JAFAX community. Staff at JAFAX are proactively utilizing all the resources available to us to ensure the safety and health of our attendees, staff, artists, and exhibitors. It is our number one concern to make sure our event is a safe environment to celebrate Japanese animation, film, art, and culture.

As we continue to monitor ongoing developments, we are following local government organizations and global health authorities, including the World Health Organization (WHO) and the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to make sure our actions follow the most extensive guidelines to protect the well-being of everyone involved with our convention. We are also working very closely with our venues to ensure the best steps possible are taken as information about COVID-19 rapidly evolves.

Our team is still working diligently to deliver the best event possible to our attendees. Keeping this in mind, the health and safety of the Grand Rapids community is of the utmost importance. As we progress closer to JAFAX 2020, we will continue to monitor the circumstances and consider all possibilities as it relates to JAFAX.

Thank you and stay safe!
